Most people don't set out to become a non-profit founder. Blake didn't either. His surprising journey and the lessons learned along the way are exactly what this podcast is built on.

FOUNDER OF ONRAMP · HOST OF BLAKE TALKS GOOD

The Story

From engineering, to the pulpit, to giving away hundreds of cars.

After graduating from Texas A&M in 1998 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Blake spent time in the automotive industry before making a major shift into ministry. He earned a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and spent the next seventeen years pastoring at Grace Bible Church in College Station, Texas, where he founded the church's first multi-site campus, Southwood.

It was there that Blake met family after family trapped by unreliable cars, single parents who couldn't get to work, school, or the doctor when their vehicle broke down, and who were then preyed on by predatory lenders and dishonest dealers. He watched honest, hard-working people slide toward eviction, homelessness, and generational poverty over something as fixable as a car.

So in 2017, Blake and his wife Julie started OnRamp out of their garage to give reliable vehicles and a full year of free maintenance and support to families like these. A decade later, that weekend project has become Blake's full-time calling: leading a team of dozens of staff and volunteers who've gifted vehicles and support to over 270 households in the Brazos Valley while launching new OnRamps in Dallas/Fort Worth and Victoria, Texas.

Launching or leading a transformative non-profit isn't rocket science. You can do it, and I want to show you how! I truly believe that our world's greatest resource is passionate entrepreneurs equipped and inspired to do greater good in their communities. — Blake Jennings

That's why Blake started the podcast in 2025: to help other non-profit and ministry founders, staff, and leaders build organizations that actually make the world measurably better.

He and Julie are proud parents of twins, whom Blake dearly hopes will one day love Jesus and cars just as much as he does.
